Privacy
Short version: we keep what we need to deliver your order, we give the courier what they need to find you, and we sell your details to nobody.
What we collect
When you place an order we keep:
- Your name and the name the parcel is going to.
- Your phone number. This is how we confirm orders and how the courier reaches you, and it is how we recognise you next time.
- The delivery address, and any note you leave with it.
- What you ordered and what it cost.
You do not need an account to shop with us, and we do not ask for one. We do not collect your date of birth, your national ID, or any payment card details — there is nothing to collect, because you pay the courier in cash.
Who else sees it
The courier delivering your parcel gets your name, phone number and address. They need all three to deliver it, and nothing beyond that.
Nobody else gets your name, number or address. We do not sell, rent or trade customer details.
The basket
Your basket is remembered with a small cookie that holds nothing but a random identifier. It is not tied to you until you place an order, and it expires by itself after two weeks.
Measuring the website
We advertise on Facebook and Instagram, and we need to know which of those adverts actually lead to orders — otherwise we are spending money blind. So this website reports anonymous activity to Meta (Facebook): which pages were viewed, what was added to a basket, and the value of an order once it is placed.
Your name, phone number and address are never sent to them. What they receive is page activity and order values, tied to a browser rather than to a person by us. These companies do their own tracking across the web, which is outside our control — a browser set to block trackers, or an ad-blocker, stops this and does not affect your ability to order.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept as long as we are required to keep business records, and because they are how we answer questions about past orders and honour anything that turns out to be our fault.
Asking us to change or remove something
Message or call us and we will correct anything that is wrong. If you want us to stop contacting you, say so and we will. We cannot delete the record of an order that has already been placed and delivered, because that is an accounting record, but nothing obliges us to keep contacting you about it.
Getting hold of us
Echo Lifestyle, 01320915650, help.echo.lifestyle@gmail.com. Details are on the contact page.
We will update this page if what we do changes. It is written to describe what the shop actually does rather than to cover every eventuality, which is the only kind of privacy notice worth reading.
